General Policy
Due to the nature of digital goods, all sales of beat licenses on ProdOfTheCentury are generally final. Once you have downloaded the licensed files, a refund cannot be issued. This policy is consistent with industry standards for digital content and complies with the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
However, we value customer satisfaction and will consider refund requests in specific circumstances outlined below.
Eligible Refund Circumstances
Refunds may be issued in the following situations:
Non-Refundable Circumstances
Refunds will not be issued for:
- Change of mind after downloading files
- Buyer's remorse or dissatisfaction with the beat after use
- Incompatibility with your DAW or software (preview files are provided for testing)
- Disputes over beat quality (subjective opinion)
- Purchases made more than 7 days ago (except fraud)
- Beats already used in released songs or projects
- License upgrades (e.g., Basic to Premium) - you must purchase the higher tier separately
How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, please follow these steps:
- Contact Support: Email refunds@prodofthecentury.com with your order number and reason for refund
- Provide Evidence: Include screenshots, error messages, or any relevant documentation
- Response Time: We will respond within 2 business days
- Processing: Approved refunds are processed within 5-10 business days to your original payment method
Exclusive License Refunds
Exclusive licenses have special conditions:
- Once an exclusive license is purchased, the beat is removed from our store permanently
- Refunds for exclusive licenses are only available for technical delivery issues
- No refunds for change of mind, as other customers lose the opportunity to purchase
- All exclusive purchases are considered final after 24 hours
Consumer Guarantees (NZ)
Under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, you are entitled to:
- Products of acceptable quality
- Products fit for the purpose they were purchased
- Products matching their description
If files do not meet these guarantees, you have the right to a remedy (repair, replacement, or refund).
Chargebacks and Disputes
Please contact us before initiating a chargeback with your bank. Chargebacks for delivered digital goods may result in:
- License revocation
- Account suspension
- Legal action to recover costs
